The teaser doesn’t show much, save for some healthy stretches and poorly-positioned balancing acts from Mr Dead Cells over here. One of those poses might even win him a Sunlight Medallion, I reckon. Besides praising the sun, Fatal Fall adds two new biomes to Dead Cells. Fractured Shrines is a dawn-drenched series of floating islands high in the sky, contrasting the bleak, swampy goodness of The Undying Shores. These will come with their own sets of monsters, bosses and weapons (to be revealed at a later date), and will run in parallel to the Stilt Village, Clock Tower, and Time Keeper stages....

The really good news, though, is that Death Stranding’s PC requirements seem to be right on the money, as my early tests show the game’s recommended GTX 1060 graphics card will have no trouble hitting well over 60fps on max settings at 1080p. Alas, I’m not allowed to show you what the game looks like on all its various graphics settings just yet, but you’ll have four presets to choose from come July 14th: Low, Medium, Default and Very High....

Hitman 2 offered the ability to import Hitman 1 locations at launch, and it was announced in August 2020 that Hitman 3 was meant to do the same again. At the time of writing, the Hitman 3 website still advertises that “locations form 1 and 2 can be imported at no additional cost for existing owners”. That’s no longer the case. The pre-launch guide explains that Hitman 1 will instead be available for free to claim for only 10 days after launch to anyone who purchases Hitman 3 on the Epic Games Store....

Last week, a number of FIFA players alleged to have proof that someone claimed to be working for EA was selling ultra-rare cards for Ultimate Team, the team-building mode that’s heavy on loot boxes. Supposedly the seller had the ability to directly add cards to buyers’ accounts, including cards that the game blocks people from trading. Prices thrown around included $2500 (£1800) for a particular coveted card. EA said on Wednesday that they would look into it, then came back on Friday with an update....

A financial document says that shareholders representing 98.61% of Codies shares voted in favour of the buyout. That’s a big yes. The deal isn’t fully finalised, with a court hearing to sanction the scheme to follow on the 16th of February, but this was a big step. It’s been a strange race. Take-Two’s bid got far enough along for them to make big statements about how great it’ll be, then they backed down after EA rolled up....

But on February 9th, a week before launch, EA announced they wouldn’t release it “where our storytelling would be subject to changes because of federal laws”. El Shaddai is a third-person action game that’s basically an anime fan-fic of the Book Of Enoch, an ancient Hebrew apocalyptic religious text. You play as Enoch, a man selected by heaven to purify a bunch of fallen angels who’ve corrupted mankind. And by purify, I mean beat the ever-loving crap out of them. This is a boss-rush game at its core, in a similar vein to something like Hyper Light Drifter, but with more fighting, platforming and puzzling sandwiched between these fights....

Frontier made the announcement in an IP Licence and Trading Update on May 1st, with CEO David Braben announcing delight at partnering with Games Workshop to create “an immersive and accessible real-time strategy game on both PC and console”. I did have to double-take a moment to make sure that said Frontier and not Creative Assembly, the folks who’ve been making the latest batch of Warhammer strategy games. As far as I can tell, Frontier haven’t ever dabbled in the RTS space....
